SmartMortgageCalc was built for anyone who wants to understand their mortgage without the sales pressure.
We are a small team of developers and homeowners who got tired of calculator sites that harvest your email before showing a result, bury you in ads, or push you toward a lender. So we built the tool we wished existed: fast, focused, and entirely browser-based.
What we believe
No signup walls
You don't need an account to run scenarios, print an amortization schedule, or compare loan terms. Drop in and calculate.
Your data is yours
We don't ask for your name, income, or Social Security number. You type the numbers; you see the math. That's it.
Clarity over complexity
Extra payments, PMI, HOA, taxes, insurance — if it affects your monthly payment, we show it. No hidden fields, no dark patterns.
How it works
Everything runs client-side in your browser. Your loan details never hit our servers. The calculations use standard amortization formulas derived from textbook financial mathematics. The results update instantly as you adjust sliders or inputs.

SmartMortgageCalc is built to help you understand your mortgage without asking for anything in return. That includes your data.
What we collect
Almost nothing. The tool runs entirely in your browser. When you enter a loan amount, interest rate, or extra payment, all calculations happen on your device. It does not pass through our servers.
The only information we might receive is standard server log data that our hosting provider collects automatically: your IP address, browser type, the page you visited, and the time of your visit. We do not use this data to identify you, profile you, or sell it to anyone.
What stays on your device
If you save a scenario or adjust default settings, that information is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your computer. If you clear your browser data or use incognito mode, those settings disappear with it. We cannot access them, restore them, or delete them for you.
Cookies and third parties
We do not use tracking cookies. We do not run third-party advertising. If we ever add analytics to understand how the site is used, we will use a privacy-respecting provider and update this policy.
Security
Because nothing you calculate is transmitted to us, there is no server database of your loan details to breach. Your financial scenarios are as secure as your own browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of the site means you accept the revised policy.
